Rivergreen German Shepherds

Rivergreen puppies after many years of breeding have made us proud by successfully being part of many jobs for dogs. We are convinced that this success is due to carefully selecting parents with sound, happy, and confident temperaments. Essential to our breeding program are the adults, most with high level training in many fields. All imported breeding males and females have schutzhund training, have been DNA tested, and have had significant health checks such as hips and elbows and many have been tested DM clear. This careful selection of parents has resulted in a very successful breeding program and highly adaptable puppies. We are exceptionally proud of our OPP dogs and of our service dogs. Our puppies have gone on to be part of the recovery of PTSD individuals. Two police wounded in the line of duty have selected Rivergreen dogs to assist in their recovery. A Canadian Armed Forces person returned from Afghanistan credits his Rivergreen service dog with his ongoing recovery from PTSD. Search and Rescue in the west is part of the duties of two other Rivergreen dogs. And then there is the fun part. Rivergreen puppies have excelled in Agility, Herding, and the sport of Schutzhund. Many, many have been the best friends of the children in wonderful families. Some of these families are returning with three generations for their next Rivergreen companion. When the work is done all look forward to a retirement on the couch having been a credit to the German Shepherd breed.
